BIO

James began his career as an improv comedy performer and filmmaker. His award-winning short films have played in festivals around the country and world.

Concurrently (God, don’t we all wish for a chance to use that word in a sentence?), he wrote, directed and performed drive-time comedy for Premiere Radio Networks, the nation’s largest syndicator. His show business satire Inside the Behind the True Hollywood Celebrity Music Biography Profile Story ran for five years in hundreds of affiliate markets nationwide.  Radio theater followed, and James became a performing member and the Head Writer of XM Satellite Radio’s New Frequency, for which he wrote almost one hundred original plays during the group’s four year run live on stage in Hollywood.

In addition to The Official Dictionary of Sarcasm, James has written half a dozen popular humor titles and, continuing his output as an author and humorist, he is a blogger on the Huffington Post, putting an irreverent spin on current events and cultural phenomena.  At the same time came the equally irreverent spin on self-help and motivational speaking that is Mr. Paul Maul, a character created, written and performed by James.  Mr. Maul’s blog features videos of his public TV fund drives and how-to home movies, along with a steady output of written satire that looks at anything and everything from the perspective of what Paul calls “empow-WOW-erment!”

James Napoli is here to help.
